ALEX THE VAMPIRE – Spectral Motion

This resin bust is easily the best of three kits put out by the US model company Spectral Motion (Cedric The Zombie & Boris The Werewolf were the other two). It comes with a stand and name plate. The teeth are cast separately.

I had a ‘late in the run’ casting which needed quite a bit of cleaning up – seam-lines in the mouth and round the back of the head – but it’s still a superb sculpture.  I painted it with acrylics, following David Fisher’s great tutorial on painting veins & veining with an airbrush but i had to cheat a little at the end to get the eyes to have that filmy look.
